I knew that I wanted to share my story in hopes that it would benefit other business owners (or their families, employees, friends) who have sustained the loss of a business. I am writing a book entitled "Your business failed, YOU did not" to provide the resource to others that I hoped to find while I was struggling. I'll be honest, I'm still struggling but I'm far enough out of the abyss that I want to provide encouragement to those still in it. I attended a networking seminar today and I talked about the book during my introduction to the group. After the event a few dozen women came up to me and shared their stories, the stories of a loved one or a neighbor and echoed the need for an avenue of support and encouragement for these transitory situations. Someone suggested a blog, and a few hours later...here we are. This blog, like the book and like me is a work in progress. I look forward to sharing my story with you and hearing your story. I look forward to encouraging your next steps.
The name of the blog is Seaside steps. The beach has always been a healing place for me. For me, there is no better place to achieve serenity and balance then at the beach. The sound of the waves is soothing. The imagery and energy of the ocean is beautiful. It is cleansing. It is motivating. It brings peace. I am struck by the image that our feet leave in the sand as we walk along the seaside. It commemorates where we've been until the waves come and wash it away. Every step is a statement and every imprint says "I was here!". I hope that this blog provides some peace for you and that you find some serenity in the transition.
I have a lot of ideas and I'm so excited to see where this leads. I welcome your feedback and your ideas. Please send suggestions, discussion ideas or questions to NextStepsSeaside@gmail.com.
